This is not medical advice
Saundarya AI is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition. Nothing in a report is a medical opinion.
The app analyses a photograph and describes what it observes about your skin's surface appearance - texture, tone, apparent hydration, visible congestion. It then suggests cosmetic products and routines. That is the whole of what it does.
What it cannot tell you
A photograph cannot detect what a photograph cannot see. In particular the app cannot identify:
- Skin cancer, melanoma, or any malignancy
- Infections, whether bacterial, fungal or viral
- Autoimmune or systemic conditions that present on the skin
- Allergies, or how your skin will react to a specific ingredient
- Anything beneath the surface of the skin
If you have a mole that is changing shape, size or colour, a lesion that will not heal, or any sudden or painful skin change, see a doctor. Do not scan it and do not wait for an app to tell you it matters.
How accurate it is
Every call in a report carries a confidence figure. That figure is our honest estimate of how sure the analysis is - it is shown because it is useful, not as decoration, and a low number means exactly what it appears to mean.
Accuracy depends heavily on the photograph. Poor lighting, heavy makeup, filters, low resolution, and unusual angles all reduce it. Results can and do vary between two photographs of the same face taken minutes apart.
Before you use any product we suggest
- Patch-test on a small area and wait 24 hours before applying to your face
- Read the ingredient list if you have any known allergy
- Introduce one new active at a time, so you can tell what caused a reaction
- Stop immediately if you develop irritation, burning or a rash
Product suggestions are generic categories and examples. We are not paid to recommend any brand, and a suggestion is not an endorsement of a specific manufacturer.
When to see a professional
See a dermatologist or your doctor if you have:
- Any changing, bleeding or non-healing lesion
- Severe or cystic acne, or acne that is scarring
- A sudden rash, especially with fever or swelling
- A skin condition that is painful, spreading, or affecting your daily life
- Any concern that a photograph would not capture
A skin condition you are worried about deserves a professional, not an app.
Pregnancy and existing conditions
Several common skincare actives - retinoids in particular - are not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. The app does not know you are pregnant and will not account for it.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking prescription skin medication, or have a diagnosed skin condition, check any routine with your doctor before starting it.
Responsibility
You use the guidance at your own discretion. We are not liable for skin reactions or other harm arising from acting on a report - see the terms of service for the full position.
